We are so happy to learn that one of our new faculty, Dr. William Wood, who just moved to the Unversity of Bristol, in the UK, will have his travel expenses covered by the Welcome Trust. Dr. Wood analyzes cell movements and the regulation of cell migration, process underlying human disease conditions like cancer and wound healing. All this, of course, he does using Drosophila.

We are so grateful to learn that the Emmanuel College at Cambridge University (UK) is funding most of the cost of the flight of one of our new faculty members, Dr. Francis Jiggins, from the University of Cambridge, UK. Dr. Jiggins studies the evolution and genetics of hosts and parasites, mostly using insects as a model system.
